Love is dead.

When I heard the news that Chris Pratt and Anna Faris broke up, I felt physically unwell. This is one of those couples that is so adorable, so perfect, that you don’t even see a breakup on the radar. The world is shook. After 8 years of marriage, the couple decided to call it quits. They announced their separation via Instagram by typing out a text message and screenshotting it.

Pretty unconventional if you ask me. But, then again, how strange is it that celebrities have to make a full on announcement when they decide to split up. I mean, it’s one thing to tell family and friends, but imagine sitting with your ex, carefully crafting the perfect message to post on social media for millions of people to see. I would honestly throw my phone across the room the moment I hit send.

As you can tell from the comments, people are not even upset, they’re devastated. It’s one of those “if they can’t make it work, what hope is there for the rest of us” situations. Like…is love dead? They looked so picture perfect on the outside. They’re both funny and cute and they have an adorable 4 year old son named Jack who wears glasses. I don’t even…I can’t talk about it. They always posted really cute Instagrams of each other, and isn’t that what true love is about? I guess that’s Hollywood for ya, you need know what’s going on behind closed doors.

Let’s all grab some ice cream and mend our broken hearts. This is almost as bad as when Amy Poehler & Will Arnett broke up. Almost.
